An Interview With Bracha
What led you to the field of obstetrics/gynecology?
After working for 3 years on a medical oncology inpatient unit at Lenox Hill, I transferred to the labor and delivery unit. I found my passion working with women during one of the most vulnerable stages of their life. Advocating for my patients and sharing their birth experience was a great source of joy and fulfillment for me, and I knew that this would be the career path I would pursue.
How many years have you been practicing in the field?
I have been working in women’s health since 2013.
What makes your job rewarding? What do you enjoy about your work?
What I find most rewarding about my job is the ability to empower women through education. I especially endeavor to listen carefully and relate to my patients’ needs. Giving patients the tools they need and guiding them towards a healthy path in life never fails to provide me with true job satisfaction.
What brought you to the area and to this practice?
I am raising my family in a location that is centrally located to all the WHP locations. When I interviewed to join the WHP family I was immediately drawn to the clear vision of the practice. WHP delivers the highest quality of care with a cohesive team of providers, and treats its patients the way I would want my own family to be treated. I knew that I wanted to be a part of this incredible team.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have 5 children, so my time away from work is pretty full. During my free time I pursue my passion for music. I love to play piano and sing, and I try find time to showcase my talents when opportunities arise.
