Unique Roles Held by Our Medical Providers

WHP currently has three Laborists, who are doctors who provide care exclusively at the hospital for our patients in the Labor and Delivery unit of the Katz/LIJ Women’s Hospital. Our Laborists, who work alongside the doctors you may see during your prenatal care at the office, help to ensure continuous coverage at the hospital. Our Midwife is positioned to deliver care at the hospital assisting our Laborists.

WHP has multiple providers who participate in delivering virtual care. These providers conduct telehealth visits, which are video visits that can be made to discuss non-urgent gynecologic issues from the comfort of your home. Anyone in New York state can request a Telehealth visit, whether you are an established patient  or new to WHP. Our virtual providers also assist the many patients who contact us with urgent questions or concerns.

We recognize the importance of providing care to women in all stages of life, including perimenopause and menopause. WHP is proud to offer Bioidentical Hormone Replacement (BHRT) pellet therapy for our patients in need of symptom relief. We currently have three physicians who have completed training with the Purepell (formerly Hormone Therapy Center of America) and are certified to place BHRT pellets.

Since 2020, WHP has been proud to offer Botox to our patients. A handful of our providers have received in-depth training in Botox from a prominent plastic surgeon in the area. Our Botox providers love helping our patients look and feel their best!

Dr. Stephen Scarantino and Dr. Stephanie Killeen are both trained in robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery. If you’re considering a robotic-assisted procedure, schedule a consultation with one of these skilled surgeons!

Some of our NPs and PAs are credentialed to perform “rounds” at the hospital (LIJ). This privilege allows us to provide continuity of care to our patients, who will see familiar faces checking in on them during their hospital stay. These providers also provide valuable postpartum education to our patients.

In 2024, WHP embarked on a journey to participate Clinical Research. Led by Principal Investigator Dr. Andre Saad, several of our providers now function as sub-Investigators and clinical research coordinators. We are proud to be on the cutting edge of clinical research, and pleased that we can offer our patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials.

WHP offers Prenatal Classes, which are taught by our most veteran NPs. These classes are designed to provide education and communicate expectations for pregnancy, during labor, and in the postpartum period.

Many of our medical providers hold management roles, too. Our Obstetrical Managers and Clinical Managers are also providers at WHP. These individuals establish proper protocols for clinical operations and serve as support to their respective teams. We would be lost without them!
