An Interview with Ariella Goldsmith PA-C
What led you to the field of obstetrics/gynecology?
From a young age, I was always fascinated by medicine. In fact, my two older sisters are in medicine as well- one is a doctor, and one is a nurse practitioner. I had a particular interest in Ob/Gyn. When I graduated from school, I knew I wanted to enter the field, and I have been enjoying it immensely ever since I started.
How many years have you been practicing in the field?
I’ve been in practice for one year.
What makes your job rewarding? What do you enjoy about your work?
Patient care and interaction is a top priority, and I will do anything and everything to make sure that my patients feel safe, validated, and understood, and that all of their questions are answered. I enjoy learning about my patients, cultivating a relationship with them, and helping them in any way that I can. I also appreciate participating in different milestones in their lives and being there to guide them every step of the way, whether it’s their first gyn exam or I’m monitoring them through their pregnancy and postpartum. I also really enjoy working with the team at Woman’s Health Pavilion. All of the doctors, providers, medical assistants and receptionists are truly top-notch, and it is a privilege to work with them. We all have the same goal, to provide excellent patient care, and we all work together to ensure that this goal is met.
What brought you to the area and to this practice?
I grew up on Long Island and have several friends who work in the practice. They are all so happy working here. When an opportunity arose for me to join them, I grabbed it. I can honestly say it was a fantastic decision and it is an honor and privilege to work at the Woman’s Health Pavilion.
Do you have special interests or areas of specialty as an ob/gyn?
Yes, I am particularly fascinated by obstetrics. Witnessing the miracle of all-the miracle of life—is something I will never grow tired of. To me, there is nothing in the world like monitoring a patient from the beginning to the end of her pregnancy and watching her pregnancy unfold. I’m also interested in hormonal imbalances and helping couples with fertility issues. .
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two little children. In the summer you can find us at the beach or the pool and in the winter, we enjoy visiting the library and local indoor museums. I enjoy reading a good novel (especially mysteries), shopping and finding a good bargain, and cooking and baking (and especially tasting) new foods and recipes.
