Dr. Teresita D. Santiago joined The Woman’s Health Pavilion in 2012. She is a Board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who sees patients in Queens and Long Island locations. As a woman and a doctor, she enjoys making connections with patients on a personal level to provide them with high-quality, compassionate care at every stage of life.

Education & Training

Dr. Santiago graduated magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She subsequently earned her medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, where she served as class president and was recognized with honors in surgery.

“Dr. Santiago began her specialty training at Westchester Medical Center and the Metropolitan Hospital Center before moving to Hawaii. There, she completed her specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Hawaii Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, where she served as chief resident.

  • Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABO+G), which requires a medical degree from a recognized institution, completion of an accredited residency program, a current medical license, and successful completion of rigorous exams given by the ABO+G.
  • Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a distinction only available to board-certified OB-GYNs, which demonstrates a commitment to understanding and using up-to-date medical practices and techniques in the care of women.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), which includes CPR for infants, children, and adults, and automated external defibrillator (AED) use.

What makes your job rewarding? What do you enjoy about your work?

“I enjoy being able to serve and educate women, and providing them with tools that will help them take control of their lives and health.”

What brought you to the area and to The Woman’s Health Pavilion?

I chose to practice in New York because it’s a dynamic and diverse place; you get to know and treat patients from all walks of life.

I chose this practice because its mission is patient-centered. In medicine, you have to work as a team, and this group provides the support needed to effectively care for patients.

Do you have special interests or areas of specialty as an OB-GYN?

I specialize in general gynecology and gynecologic surgery because I enjoy providing the women I serve with state-of-the-art, high-quality care.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, watching re-runs of old TV shows, and doing Orangetheory® Fitness.
