An Interview with Dr. Ramos
What led you to the field of obstetrics/gynecology?
During medical school, my passion for obstetrics and gynecology grew throughout my clinical rotation in Obstetrics and Gynecology. I enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of a woman’s most important stages of life, especially childbirth.
How many years have you been practicing in the field?
I earned my MD degree in 2018 and trained for four years at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Center in San Juan. I joined The Woman’s Health Pavilion in 2022.
What makes your job rewarding? What do you enjoy about your work?
The smile on a patient’s face is reward enough. I enjoy being a part of a woman’s education and well-being, and establishing trusting relationships with my patients.
What brought you to the area and to this practice?
I have visited New York frequently since I was a child, to spend time with friends and family. I chose to spend my next stage in life in a place that is known for its strong, lively, and distinctive communities. I’m excited for new opportunities and experiences to come!
I joined The Woman’s Health Pavilion because I respect its patient-centered environment, and the benefit of having a dedicated mentor for junior attendings.
Do you have special interests or areas of specialty as an ob/gyn?
I love being a general ObGyn. I am also interested in reducing health disparities, providing care for the LGBTQ+ community, and educating patients in sexual health and prevention.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy cooking, going on roadtrips, going to the cinema, and spending time with my Corgi, Emma.
