An interview with Kristin Smith

What led you to the field of ob/gyn?

Once I experienced the field of ob/gyn I knew there was no going back! There are so many different aspects to this field each with their own unique challenges. I love that this field offers me the opportunity to help educate and empower women during different stages of their life.

How many years have you been practicing in the field?

I became a PA in 2000 and have specialized in Ob/Gyn since 2002.

What makes your job rewarding? What do you enjoy about your work?

I truly enjoy connecting with patients and believe that this is the cornerstone to understanding individual healthcare needs.

What brought you to the area and to this practice?

The reputation of WHP is stellar and I couldn’t wait to become a part of this team!

Do you have special interests of specialty as an ob/gyn?

My greatest interests lie in patient education—whether it is explaining abnormal Pap results or helping a new mom through the early stages of her pregnancy.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my two children, husband, and our dogs. I love being outdoors and also do a lot of volunteer work in my community.
