An Interview With Lauren Hoo

How many years have you been practicing in the field?

After years of hands-on patient experience, I received rigorous training in physician assistant studies and began practicing in 2017.

What makes your job rewarding? What do you enjoy about your work?

A career in healthcare is most rewarding when I am able to put my patients’ minds at ease and make what can sometimes be an uncomfortable exam as comfortable as possible. I enjoy offering a clear, non-judgmental approach to all of my patients and being able to make a positive impact in their lives.

What brought you to the area and to this practice?

Having lived in Brooklyn all my life, I knew I wanted to stay and make a difference locally. Working at the Woman’s Health Pavilion is an easy choice to make, knowing how cohesive the unit is and how passionate the team feels about women’s health.

Do you have special interests or areas of specialty as an ob/gyn?

Although I enjoy all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, I am especially interested in preventive care and acute gynecologic issues.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy being with family and friends, hiking, drawing and painting, and playing music.
