An Interview with Dr. Maggie Yeung

What led you to the field of obstetrics/gynecology?

Obstetrics/Gynecology is a unique field because it is a combination of medicine, surgery, and primary/preventive care in women’s health. OB/GYN is a diverse specialty with a strong focus on continuity of care. I enjoy working in a dynamic environment where I can hone my communication and surgical skills and am constantly learning something new daily.

How many years have you been practicing in the field?

I graduated from medical school in 2021 and completed 4 years of residency. I joined The Woman’s Health Pavilion in 2025.

What makes your job rewarding?

As an OB/GYN provider, I am proud to be an advocate and champion for women from all ages and various backgrounds. It is inspiring to support women as they make personal life decisions. I have the privilege of being an integral part of life transitions (birth, puberty, adolescence, menopause). It is an honor to share these intimate moments and build lasting relationships with patients.

What brought you to the area and to this practice?

I am a native New Yorker, born and raised in Queens, near Forest Hills. I want to live and work in my community. I chose the Woman’s Health Pavilion, not only because there is an office location in Forest Hills, but also for the camaraderie and supportive environment. This practice ensures a commitment to provide comprehensive and high-quality care for patients. There is also strong mentorship and work-life balance.

Do you have special interests or areas of specialty as an ob/gyn?

I am interested in all aspects of OB and GYN, and plan to continue practicing in both areas. I hope to empower women through education and advocacy and improve women’s health across the lifespan.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

During my free time, I like to explore bakeries/cafes/cocktail bars, play board games and trivia, watch improv shows/musicals/plays. I also enjoy thrifting and attending free outdoor events (there are many in NYC!). I love to travel (my next destination is Antarctica!) and staying active (hiking, swimming, taking group fitness classes). One of my near-term goals is to participate in a triathlon.
