I was born in Tehran, Iran. My family moved to Brooklyn, NY when I was three years old. I grew up in the heart of Brooklyn immersed in American culture while staying true to my Persian tradition. I am fluent in Farsi, Hebrew and Aramaic, and I currently live in Long Island.
I went to Touro College School of Health Sciences – Manhattan Campus where I very much enjoyed being the president of my class. It is my nature to really give my heart to help others around me, and I thought it would be best to start with the people that are my PA family. I graduated cum laude with bachelor’s in physician assistant studies.
I have been a PA for a little over 14 years, starting out in the Cardiology Department at Beth Israel Medical center for 5 years. This was strong medical foundation which I still carry with me today.
Shortly thereafter, I moved on to work in surgical oncology at the Pancreas Center at Columbia University for another five years. This was truly a rewarding and humbling experience. At the Pancreas Center, patience, empathy, and kindness were brought to a whole new level.
This skillset helped me a great deal while I worked with countless isolated patients during COVID in stepdown, and intensive care units at Mount Sinai Hospital, Brooklyn. This was an impossible time and like many other clinicians, I felt like it broke me. I wanted to see life and joy once again. This is what drew me to Ob/Gyn.
