An interview with Dr. Renee O’Toole

What led you to the field of obstetrics/gynecology?

I discovered my interest in and passion for women’s health in medical school after spending my first day on labor and delivery during my very first clinical rotation. Being a part of such a special day for my patients and their families and seeing new life brought into the world was an extremely moving experience as a medical student. My interest in women’s health was further encouraged by excellent mentors who have shaped me into the physician I am today.

How many years have you been practicing in the field?

I completed four years of medical school as well as four years of obstetrics and gynecology residency training and have been with The Woman’s Health Pavilion since 2018.

What makes your job rewarding? What do you enjoy about your work?

What I enjoy most about my job is being able to provide excellent care for women over the course of their lives and forming relationships with my patients during their care, whether it’s throughout a pregnancy or during their annual GYN visits, sharing joyous occasions or providing support after a difficult diagnosis.

What brought you to the area and to this practice?

I have always loved visiting New York City, but fell even more in love while living here for residency. I was particularly interested in joining The Woman’s Health Pavilion because the providers in this practice share my dedication to providing excellent care to all patients within a collaborative environment.
