“I enjoy educating my patients, helping make them feel informed and confident in their body, and in the driver’s seat for their healthcare.”

I was born and raised in Rockland County, New York and earned my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Buffalo, where I graduated magna cum laude. I then earned my Master of Science in Health Sciences from The George Washington University Physician Assistant Program in 2025.

During my undergraduate education, I worked on a maternal smoking cessation study serving underserved communities, where I explored the connection between maternal smoking and childhood obesity. My clinical placements included private practice, labor and delivery, federally qualified health centers, and a LGBTQ+ health center.

An Interview with Rosie Salomon

What led you to the field of obstetrics/gynecology?

From a young age, I was always drawn to medicine. Growing up with a father who is a physician, I was surrounded by examples of respect for patients and a for a life dedicated to service, and that naturally shaped my path toward healthcare.

During my clinical rotations, I spent time in both outpatient settings and labor and delivery. One of my professors worked on the labor and delivery unit, and I saw how fiercely she advocated for her patients, caring for them with such skill and with all her heart; this ignited a light in me to step into this field. I will never forget assisting in my first delivery! It is a privilege to support people during some of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives.

How many years have you been practicing in the field?

I completed my training from the George Washington University Physician Assistant Program in 2025 and am thrilled to be starting my career with WHP!

What makes your job rewarding?

What makes my job rewarding is all the different unique backgrounds I get to serve. I love building relationships and connecting with patients as this type of continuity is incredibly meaningful to me. I enjoy educating my patients, helping make them feel informed and confident in their body, and in the driver’s seat for their healthcare.

What brought you to the area and to this practice?

After completing my Physician Assistant studies, it was time to come back to my roots! From my initial conversation with The Woman’s Health Pavilion, I could immediately sense the compassion, teamwork and deep commitment to high-quality patient care by these dedicated providers. It felt like a place where I could truly grow and contribute.

Do you have special interests or areas of specialty as an ob/gyn?

Obstetrics, preventative care, reproductive sexual health, in office procedures, and affirming obgyn care.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy running, baking, searching new recipes, learning salsa, listening to the Moder Love Podcast, and spending time with my family. I also love reading, especially biographies, as it invites me to learn about the lives and journeys that shape people.
